Dandy Di trained and driven by Chris Lems upset the field Sunday at Saratoga Raceway and Casino going off at odds of 14-1 in the ninth race featured Fillies & Mares Open Pace with a purse of $16,000, leaving from post position three in the six horse field.
Dandy Di got away fifth while the 4-5 post time favorite Bet On Luck driven by Dan Cappello Jr left from the six hole and tried to wire the field with fractions of 27.2, 57 to the half and reaching the three quarters in 1:25.3 but thoses fractions proved to be a bit to much for the five year old Bettor’s Delight Mare as the race winner Dandy Di breezed by with a 29.1 last quater to win by a full length in 1:54.4.
The six year old mare owned by Robert Lems of Canton, South Dakota returned $30.80, $7.80 and $6.10 for the two dollar wager. Bet On Luck held on for second while Eagle Way got up for third with Chris Long in the sulky.
